EXTRA KITCHEN TIP: STORING JUICE IN GLASS JARS

Hello Tuesday and hello everyone,
So now that I have started jucing, I did a little research about juicing vs blending and also how one should store juices.
Now I am not too keen on storing juices because minutes after juicing the nutrients begin to dissipate. It is actually advised to drink the juice right after before 20 minutes have passed. So by all means drink your juice immediately and if by any chance you have made alot and you need to store it, make sure to drink it within 24 hrs before it begins to oxidate. When this happens, the color and even taste changes and makes the juice less enjoyable and it has less nutrients.
All in all if you are storing it, I recommend glass jars.
I found the ones below at Nakumatt for about 200 ksh (1/2 ltr) and 380 ksh (1 ltr)  for the larger one.
It is advised to store juices in glass jars and not plastic because research shows that plastic leaches into the juice or food that is being stored. New research shows that even hard plastic [polycarbonate] bottles aren't as safe and that they leach toxins into what is being stored.
Remember to store in the refrigerator and for as little time as possible!

So yes go and get some glass jars and lets get juicing!!!!

Have a blessed Tuesday,
Sincerely
Jaz
